257

I just ran a 5k (using the exact route laid out for a fun run the city is having next month) in 34 minutes. Not a great time, but it's the longest run I've done in a couple years and that time would have had me beating about 15 or 20 people in last years race (based on the times posted online). I'm not super competitive, but I'd like to know I have a shot at not embarrassing myself if I enter the race next month.

I want to do that course at least once a week until the race and see if I can shave 5+ minutes of my time.

I got really inspired last night, out of nowhere really, and decided I need to waste less time this year. I want to work out some concrete goals and be pushing towards them at all times. If I get board or feel defeated on one thing, I can take a break and work towards another goal until I'm ready to come back to the first one, as long as I'm making progress and not losing ground on any of them.
