The best part about having kept this blog (even if it's been fairly inconsistent) is that you can look back on the reality of things and not fall for your own misconceptions. I felt good having weighed in at 273, but didn't realize that this is the lowest weight I've gotten to this year. It felt like just another few pounds lost in my ever fluctuating weight, but the record shows slow but continuous progress.
For the first time in a while, I'm back to counting calories, while keeping up with CrossFit 3 times a week (and trying to get in some cardio on the off days). Obviously that isn't too hard, but it's really about the mental state I have to be in to get all of this lined up and going at the same time. That's really the key. I'm fully aware of what works and what doesn't, but I'm not always able to keep myself doing the things that work.
No matter how good it feels when you have everything going in the right direction, it's still hard to keep yourself doing that. Not sure why that is such a common issue for people.
